Working on a table loom, you will discover how a woven textile is built, from understanding the structure of the loom to making your own creative choices in colour, texture, and composition. With individual guidance throughout the day, we will explore the possibilities of weaving while developing a piece that reflects your own ideas.
We start the morning with an introduction to weaving, exploring basic concepts, materials, and how the loom works. Together, we will choose colours and materials, think about your design, and prepare the loom before beginning your weaving project.
During the day, you will learn the foundations of working on a table loom, including how to start and finish a project. We will explore techniques such as rag weaving, using leftover fabrics and reclaimed materials to create texture, rhythm, and composition in your piece.
The day includes a morning and afternoon weaving session with a lunch break in between.
No previous weaving experience is required. All materials are included.
